Amidst the Trees, the Falls
In seeing images of Bridal Veil Falls - located in British Columbia - I was fascinated not only by the graceful beauty of this 1200 ft waterfall, but also the dense, rich forest in which it is found. I've come to greatly enjoy the creative process of depicting waterfalls - balancing their strength with their grace and fluidity. Trees have long been a huge inspiration for me, so this drawing centered on capturing this juxtaposition and to draw as many individual trees I could pick out within my composition area, rather than a mere suggestion of the forest. The result is a rich tapestry celebrating the balance, colors, and textures found in the countless beautiful corners of the world.
